Tetapi Yesus tidak menghiraukan perkataan mereka… Terkadang, itulah hal terbaik yang mungkin juga bisa kita lakukan. Tidak menghiraukan, atau menanggapi terlalu serius, terhadap apa yang menjadi perkataan maupun pendapat orang lain kepada kita ataupun situasi-situasi tertentu.
Sebab, adakalanya apa yang terlihat sebagai niat maupun sesuatu yang baik dari seseorang, bisa saja sebenarnya memiliki tujuan atau motivasi yang salah. Apalagi, perkataan-perkataan dan pendapat yang benar-benar bertujuan untuk menjatuhkan serta merendahkan kita, melemahkan iman, ataupun menghancurkan harapan kita.
Markus 5:35-36, "Ketika Yesus masih berbicara datanglah orang dari keluarga kepala rumah ibadat itu dan berkata: 'Anakmu sudah mati, apa perlunya lagi engkau menyusah-nyusahkan Guru?' Tetapi Yesus tidak menghiraukan perkataan mereka dan berkata kepada kepala rumah ibadat: 'Jangan takut, percaya saja.'"
While He was still speaking, there came some from the ruler's house, who said [to Jairus], Your daughter has died. Why bother and distress the Teacher any further? {Overhearing} but ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing. While Jesus was still speaking to that woman, some people arrived who had come from Jairus' house. They said to Jairus, "Your daughter has now died. So …it is useless that you bother the teacher any longer by urging him to go to your house! (Why do you bother the teacher any longer by urging him to go to your house?)" But when Jesus heard what these men said, he said to Jairus, "Do not think that the situation is hopeless! Just believe that she will live!" (DEIBLER)
Adakah kita saat-saat ini terperangkap dan "termakan" oleh perkataan ataupun pendapat orang-orang yang melemahkan iman, percaya, serta membuat kita berhenti berpengharapan? Bukankah lebih baik mempercayai saja pada apa yang Tuhan dan firman-Nya katakan terhadap maupun tentang kita?
Ia mengasihi kita, Saudara dan saya.
Jadi, janganlah pernah menyerah dalam kehidupan ini.
Tuhan Yesus baik, sungguh teramat baik.
