GBI PRJ (CK7)

Sudah pernah sih baca ayat ini, mungkin banyak dari kita juga. Tapi hari ini, ada ayatnya yang terasa "gong" atau mengena sekali.

Saya juga tiba-tiba teringat suatu kutipan yang menyatakan, "Kapasitas masa depanmu mungkin sekali akan ditentukan juga oleh buku-buka apa yang kita baca, dan dengan siapa saja engkau bergaul."

Setelah Yesus mengajak Matius sang pemungut cukai untuk mengikut Dia, Yesus makan di rumah yang kemungkinan juga merupakan rumahnya, serta dihadiri juga oleh banyak pemungut cukai yang lainnya.

Saat ahli-ahli agama atau orang Farisi melihat hal itu, mereka mengejeknya. Namun, Yesus yang mendengarnya, dengan penuh hikmat memberi sekakmat terhadap perkataan mereka.

Matius 9:9-11 (TSI), "Ketika Yesus meninggalkan tempat itu, Dia melihat saya, Matius, sedang duduk di tempat kerja saya. Waktu itu saya masih menjadi penagih pajak. Kata Yesus kepada saya, 'Ikutlah Aku!' Maka saya pun berdiri dan mengikut Yesus. Kemudian waktu Yesus makan di rumah saya, banyak penagih pajak dan orang-orang lain yang juga dianggap orang berdosa datang untuk makan bersama Dia dan kami murid-murid-Nya. Ketika orang-orang Farisi melihat hal itu, mereka bertanya kepada kami, 'Kenapa guru kalian makan bersama para penagih pajak dan orang-orang berdosa yang lain?'"

As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's office; and He said to him, Be My disciple [side with My party and follow Me]. And he rose and followed Him. And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and [especially wicked] sinners came and sat (reclined) with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, Why does your Master eat with tax collectors and those [preeminently] sinful? (AMP)

As Jesus was going away from there, he saw me, a man named Matthew. I was sitting at a table where I collected taxes for the Roman government. He said to me, "Come with me and become my disciple!" So I got up and went with him. Then I invited Jesus and his disciples to my home for a meal. While they were sitting and eating in my home, many tax collectors and other people who were {the Pharisees} considered to be habitual sinners came unexpectedly to eat with us. When the Pharisees saw that, they came to us disciples and said, "…It is disgusting that your teacher, who claims to be righteous, eats and associates with tax collectors and other sinners!/Why is it that your teacher, who claims to be righteous, eats and associates with tax collectors and other sinners?" (DEIBLER)

Sebenarnya, Yesus memberikan pedoman tujuan bergaul dengan orang-orang yang mungkin belum percaya pada-Nya, serta yang masih memilih hidup dalam dosa. Yaitu, bukan untuk mencari kesenangan pribadi atau persahabatan secara duniawi, melainkan untuk berbuat kebaikan, terutama membagikan jalan keselamatan, pertobatan, serta kesaksian bagi mereka. Dia menjadi Sahabat orang berdosa, dengan tujuan yang mulia, bukan keuntungan semata-mata atau motivasi yang salah lainnya.

Matius 9:12-13 (TSI), "Mendengar pertanyaan mereka, Yesus menjawab dengan kiasan, 'Orang sehat tidak memerlukan dokter. Yang memerlukan dokter adalah orang sakit. Pergi dan pelajarilah maksud Allah ketika Dia berkata, 'Aku lebih suka kalian menunjukkan belas kasihan kepada orang lain daripada mempersembahkan kurban kepada-Ku.' Yesus pun menambahkan, 'Begitu juga Aku. Aku datang untuk memanggil orang-orang berdosa supaya bertobat, bukan untuk orang-orang yang merasa dirinya benar.'"

But when Jesus heard it, He replied, Those who are strong and well (healthy) have no need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick. Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy [that is, readiness to help those in trouble] and not sacrifice and sacrificial victims. For I came not to call and invite [to repentance] the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God), but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin). (AMP)

Jesus heard what they said, so he told them this parable: "It is people who are sick who need a doctor, not people who are well." What he meant by that was that it was people who knew that they were sinners who were coming to him in order to be helped spiritually. He continued by saying, "You need to learn what these words that God said mean: 'I want you to act mercifully to people and not just to offer sacrifices.' Keep in mind that I came from heaven, not to invite people who think that they are righteous to turn away from their sinful lives and come to me, but to invite people who know they are sinners to turn from their sins and come to me." Dengan siapakah kita bersahabat hari-hari ini, dan apakah tujuan utama kita? Apakah sekadar demi keuntungan pribadi, ataukah kerinduan dari dasar hati untuk memperkenalkan dan membawa kasih Tuhan bagi hidup mereka? Jangan sampai kita sendiri yang juga malah terkena sekakmat oleh Tuhan.
